The North City Pure Water Pipeline, Dechlorination Facility, and Sub-aqueous Pipeline will be constructed in the Scripps Ranch and Miramar communities. The North City Pure Water Pipeline will be constructed from the North City Pure Water Facility on Eastgate Mall and continue along Miramar Road before tunneling under Interstate 15 into Scripps Ranch.

The pipeline will start at Eastgate Mall and follow Miramar Road to Kearny Villa Road and continue along Candida Street to Via Pasar and then Via Excelencia. From there, the pipeline will continue under Interstate 15 and along Business Park Avenue to Carroll Canyon Road and follow Hoyt Park Drive to Meanley Drive before crossing Scripps Lake Drive to the Miramar Reservoir.

The Dechlorination Facility will remove chlorine added for disinfection and pipe protection before the purified water is blended with the current water supply in the Miramar Reservoir. The Subaqueous Pipeline will ensure even distribution of the purified water in the reservoir. This 1-mile branched pipeline will be constructed on barges before being sunk and permanently installed on the floor of the reservoir.

Miramar Reservoir Pump Station Improvements

Anticipated Start: October 2022 Expected Completion: 2025

The Miramar Reservoir Pump Station conveys raw water from Miramar Reservoir to the headworks of the Miramar Water Treatment Plant.  The maintenance and upgrades at the Miramar Reservoir Pump Station are needed to ensure that the Purified Water sent to Miramar Reservoir is reliably pumped to the treatment plant headworks. The purified water mixed with reservoir water will be treated again at the Miramar Water Treatment Plant and distributed to the public.
